  8.  NewViews features include:
  9.  
  10.  · Allows the use of nearly any text or graphics viewer that
  11.    supports commandline viewing.  It should also work fine
  12.    with programs such as Play16.
  13.  
  14.  · Allows the user to set the hotkey for viewing (assuming
  15.    the viewer provides a file requester.)
  16.  
  17.  · Allows the user to set the X and Y coordinates of the
  18.    appicon via ToolTypes.
  19.  
  20.  · Can be enabled/disabled via any commodities exchange
  21.    program. Can also be removed via CTRL-C.
  22.  
  23.  · Settable commodity priority

  25.  · Complete drag and drop support via Workbench AppIcon.

  27.     NewView was basically written because I was tired of having
  28.  to open things up all the time just to view something be it a
  29.  picture or text etc.  I wanted the ablility to have something
  30.  on my desktop that I could just drop something onto and view
  31.  that particular something.  The ability to remove it also
  32.  crossed my mind and thus it was wrapped into a commodity.
  33.  Otherwise one would have to have a program to send the CTRL-C
  34.  to it (such as SysInspector.)  With the commodity wrapper over
  35.  it, you can enable and disable the appicon at any point in time
  36.  or even remove it.  Keep in mind that even though it's disabled
  37.  the AppIcon will still remain on the desktop, you just won't be
  38.  able to use it.
